We are tickled pink and tremendously proud to announce that our Restaurant Manager Owen Farr has been named a 2020 Acorn Award winner!

Since their inception in 1986, the prestigious Acorn Awards have sought to highlight and celebrate the achievements of 30 of the hospitality industry’s brightest young stars each year, with previous winners including Jamie Oliver and Marco Pierre White.

About Owen Farr, Restaurant Manager of The Olive Tree

From holding the title of Undergraduate President of The Bacchus Society whilst at university, to undertaking varied roles with luxurious group D&D London in The City and Mayfair, Owen has always showcased a passion for wine, food and hospitality.

Now managing the prestigious Olive Tree restaurant, Owen is responsible for all Front of House activity as well as service standards – no small task at Bath’s only Michelin-starred restaurant!

As if that wasn’t enough, Owen also develops the wine list and pairings for the restaurant’s SIX and NINE tasting menus, and manages the Old Q Bar within our sister hotel The Queensberry.

We are extremely proud to have Owen working alongside Head Chef Chris Cleghorn to lead The Olive Tree restaurant team.

Owen said:

“I am delighted to have won the prestigious Acorn Award, and to follow in the footsteps of the owner of the Queensberry Hotel, Laurence Beere! I was thrilled to see our hard work as a team recognised and it’s a big thanks to the team effort we put in here that I have been rewarded. It’s certainly a much-needed positive in this year in particular.”
