The Olive Tree Restaurant, which you’ll find below The Queensberry Hotel, is headed by talented executive head chef, Chris Cleghorn. We received our first Michelin Star in 2018, and have retained it every year since (we’ve had 4 AA rosettes since 2024 too).
Chris honed his exceptional skills as the protégé of world-renowned Michelin Star chefs Michael Caines MBE (Gidleigh Park) and Adam Simmonds (Danesfield House).
Leading a Michelin Star kitchen is about beautiful food consistently delivered, but it’s also about developing menus, finding and working with the best suppliers, and creating an environment which nurtures talent and breeds success, while also bringing a work/life balance.

At Bath’s only Michelin Star restaurant (and Somerset’s only 4 AA Rosette Restaurant), we are scrupulous about sourcing, forge great collaborations with southwest and Somerset suppliers, and are equally rigorous when it comes to each dish’s exceptional attention to detail.
Chris Cleghorn’s team’s dedication to providing a Michelin Star dining experience for those with dietary requirements is also second to none. You can enjoy the menus either for lunch or dinner in a warm, welcoming atmosphere of informal fine dining in an independent restaurant below a Michelin Key hotel.
