Tipping Policy

Our approach towards Service Charges

We believe that dining with us should always feel relaxed and enjoyable, which is why we choose not to automatically add a 12.5% service charge to our guests’ bills. Instead, we leave this entirely to your discretion. If you feel that the service you’ve received deserves a small gesture of thanks, our team are always grateful — but there is absolutely no expectation or pressure to do so.

We appreciate that the current cost‑of‑living challenges affect us all, and we don’t want anything to stand in the way of guests continuing to enjoy dining out. By removing mandatory service charges, we aim to give everyone the freedom to decide what feels right for them. Our team genuinely value any tips they receive, as they’re a thoughtful reflection of the service provided, and while tipping is warmly encouraged, it is never expected.

In October 2024, and in line with the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023, The Queensberry Hotel and the Olive Tree Restaurant partnered with Troncmasters Limited to manage a tronc system for the fair distribution of customer tips. This allows us to ensure that all gratuities are shared honestly, fairly, and transparently in accordance with our tronc policy.
