Our approach towards Service Charges

We do not believe that the addition of “Discretionary Service Charges” is the right way to reward individuals who provide highly professional standards of service in hospitality, in the same way that it is not expected in other professions.

Rather than add a 12.5% service charge to your bill at the end of your meal our prices reflect the true cost of operating a restaurant that enables us to provide our team with a consistent professional wages that are above the National Living Wage.

The traditional service charge system that exists in much of the industry creates inconsistent earnings, does not allow for pension contributions and creates job insecurity as and when business levels fluctuate.

Our approach ensures that individuals receive industry leading wages that enable them to have consistency in their incomes, and better opportunities when applying for mortgages and other living costs.

We are not the first restaurant to adopt this professional standard and believe that it is the correct way forward to look after our staff.
